Before they were known as the Glades Boys, Jake and Stevie were just two kids determined to catch their first python. After coming home empty handed for over a year, they finally succeeded in July 2021, capturing roughly a dozen pythons that summer.
Once Jake and Steve were confident in their hunting skills, they recognized just how difficult it was for them to learn how to hunt these snakes through trial and error over the course of a year. And so, Glades Boys Python Adventures was born; a guided hunt service that allowed aspiring python hunters to learn how to catch these snakes in one night. Their first client got himself the experience of a lifetime when the boys worked together to capture this 18 ft, 110 lb Burmese python.
On July 10th of 2023, the Glades Boys made their most historic catch to date: a world record-setting 19 ft Burmese python. The snake was captured by Glades Boys guide Jake with the help of his friends Isabella, Soko, and Joe.
Less than two weeks after their record-breaking catch, the Glades Boys came across this labyrinth Burmese python, which is an extremely rare genetic mutation found in the wild. While the labyrinth python (right side) still belongs to the Burmese python species, its pattern appears entirely different. Although this snake may be small, the Glades Boys were thrilled to check this one off their bucket list.
